CHRISTMAS IN SPAIN DE PUTA MADRE

Our other traveling together. To Spain, To Javi´s family, Barcelona and more. When Javi tol dme, that he will invite me to his place for Christmas, I was super excited and very happy that he trust me that much to spend Christmas with me. We were looking forward to that whole autumn and me even more, when I realised, that we managed to spend 3 days in Barcelona as well. Barcelona was one of my travelling goals and since I was this June in Madrid, it was the place number 1 that I wanted to visit in Spain. And what happened? Dream came true!

We took our airplane at 9 p.m. from Prague on Tuesday, the 19th of December and flew directly to Barcelona. My mum took me with car to the airport and there I met Javi, who had amazingly looking new haircut. He didn´t look like an „Taliban“ anymore (how he is used to say). In Barcelona, we took bus, which was for 6 Euro for each and went with it to Plaza Catalunya. Firstly, we wanted to go by taxi, but luckily we saw the bus and went with that. It was the best decision since after 1 o´clock in Barcelona are not many people and we experienced dark Paseo de Gracia without any Christmas decoration. Than, when I saw Casa Batllo lighting in front of us, I was totally amazed. We sat in front of that house and smoked strawberry cigarettes which I found in flat of Javi after his Christmas party (which was held on previous Thursday, full of Latinos +Terka). It was such a magic moment, for me totally new experience, new architectonic style, new everything. Next to us was sitting some Asian couple which we were meeting than many times in following days. When we came to our hostel (hostel Primavera), I was very very tired but excited at the same time. The hostel looked so lovely! The only thing, that I felt uncomfortable with was, that I had the feeling, that from our room would be heared every single word. I hope it was not :D.

2 DAY

We woke up quite late and did not manage to go to free tour, which was planned to attend at 10 a.m., so we decided to visit Sagrada Familia. First day in the city, so no matter where we will go. It was so extraordinary experience! Amazing, I have never seen anything like that. Inside of the church were flowers, it whole looked like from some fairy tail. We bought tickets to go inside (for 18E each), without guide, because we would need to wait another 3 hours, which I really did not want. But we enjoyed anyway. Javi was telling me a lot about history, architecture.. and so on, and I listened patiently like always (thinking about that, how dumb I am that I dont know anything). Later on, we were continuing to Park Güell, which was also another amazing experience. The architecture of houses and monuments from Gaudi are just unbelievable. We took coffee and walked around the park. In the evening, we went to the main street, checked some shops, felt happy together and went for my first spanish wein to some fancy restaurant where they played metal and rock. How romantic! Javi tol dme about his theory, that they are playing very fast music to get people out of the restaurant and than, when there are less people, they change the music to something more slow and romantic, to make people stay there, so it would look like that i tis good restaurant with a lot of costumers even in the late hours. In the night we went for another wine and because red wine made me really feel tired, we took taxi and went back to hostel. There, we fell asleep immediately.

3 DAY

We wanted to wake up earlier to manage the tour, but again, we did not managed. So we went for that one, which was at eleven. Our guide was super extrovert girl, with very british accent. She used a lot of gestures while talking and new a lot about history. For me at least it was a lot. Unfortunately, for Javi it did not seem so. He told me about a lot of things that she was saying, which were just very easily said without any further context. In the middle of the tour, we stayed in some Irish pub to go on the toilet, where was already prepared soma stand from that company, which did the tour (SANDEMANS). I did not really like that, because it completely lost the point of free tours, since they had their own merchandising, also paid tours…and after that break, we lost the tour completely. For us it was actually no problem, we borrowed green bikes, because Javi was not able to walk so much and were moving around with bikes on the beach and on the coast. It wa so beautiful! Sun was shining and we felt in love, free and happy together. It was pretty warm there so we decided to do picnic on the beach. We bought banderillas, spanish tortilla, hummus, goat cheese, bread and light coke. We took beautiful „in love“ pictures and went further with bikes. I wanted to see huge building which looked like dildo, apparently, it was some office building. After that, we went to the gallery of modern art, but unfortunately, it was closing like in 1 hour. Luckily, we could use our tickets also next day, so we did not really mind. In front of gallery was Javi´s friend Despina (from Greece) waiting for us. We took with her a lot of different tapas, some fried goat cheese, potatoes and so on, and were drinking beer. After that, we moved to some bar, where was starting life concert. She tol dus about street full of prostitutes and her experience with prostitutes, when she ewas fighting with one of them, because she was under cocain. It was super nice, however, I was very tired. On the way back home, we stopped in some kind of small Supermercat and bought there some african poridge called „Fufu“ and also „Piindakas“ (peanut butter) for 2,50E/500g!!!!! AMAZING. We also visited LA PEDRERA, which had super cool Christmas decoration, and of course, the architecture of the house was also very extraordinary and surprising for me. I tis super interesting, like that the buildings from Gaudi dont have any single straight line. And it is still staying there.

3 DAY

In the morning, we went to see Sagrada Familia again, did romantic pictures next to the lake, after that we went to the market called „La Boquería“, where we saw so many different kinds of fish, moving crabs and different sorts of fruits. We were eating olives, pomgranate, coconut, clementines and me also fish. Javi then bought dried ananas, which was super tasty. After that, we were just checking shops and went to the Gallery of modern art again, we found it super boring so just called taxi, went to the hostel and waited, till Pep will come. We met him around 8 and went to some local bar with other friends (Julia and Henrik). They were super cool! They were doing their own hipster T-shirts. I also drunk for the first time Cava, we got a little bit drunk, Pep was flirting in Catalan with some girl and than we went home with taxi, went to bed and set our alarms to 4:30 a.m.

4 DAY

We woke up as expected at 4:30 a.m. I hated whole world and took taxi to the airport. There, everything was pretty ok, in the airplane, we were both just sleeping and around one hour later, we arrived to Santiago, where was Javi´s dad and sister waiting for us. In the airplane, I also realised, that some yoghurt or whatever was in my backpack, so I was a little bit nervous because of that, but finally, it was not my yoghurt, so fuck it. Javi´s father welcomed me in Spanish, we took coffee. There weree some moments that I stayed alone with his sister, who did not talk to me at all. At that moment I realised, that she is not really friendly person. In the car, it was ok, I started to be aware, that I am not understanding anything in Spanish. For lunch we had some beans with seafood. In the evening, I went for run, it was super foggy and very bad air, but it was not a big problem for me. I got bit lost. In the evening, we went to visit in some bar some old friends from Javi. I was super bored so I went home, learned a little bit spanish, had „diner“ (it was just ham 😀 ) with Javi´s parents and his sister and went sleep. I wanted to listen some stories in Spanish, but I just fell asleep and was waiting for my dearest one.

5 DAY

I slept till nine, than we had omelette with avocado for breakfast and somehow were doing nothing during day. At 3 we had lunch, Javi´s parents gave me octopus, without anything, which was not really tasty for me, so I did not finish the food. But actually, I was quite full anyway. We were waiting like for ages for Javi´s sister and mum to get ready. In the car, Laura (sister of Javi) told Javi to hange places with their father, because she did not feel comfortable. OMG! She could not even leave us together. And than ( about what javi was talking later), she were complaining, that we are talking with Javi, so she can not listen to the radio. LOL 😀 The dinner was super long, we had fish soup and after that fish with some tomato salsa. It was pretty tasty, the fish actually the most. After the diner, I got two presents, book and bracelet, Javi got a jacket. We finished at 1 a.m. so after that, we went directly to sleep.

6 DAY

I woke up at 8 and was reading a book, which I got from Elle and Gon, about mistakes which we do, when we think (basically about irrationality). After that, me Javi´s dad and Gon, we had breakfast and me and Javi went for a walk. After walk, I went to run around the river, met donkeys, went to the hill and listened to the podcasts. Lunch was at 4 p.m. After lunch, I was reading respect and writing this diary. Parents of Javi didnt allow us to use the car next day before ten, because his mother and sister needs to have exactly that car for parking in the village, where they were staying over the night. Now, we are going for some special Cider without bubbles, so let´s see, if it will be cool as expected, or just normal strong alcohol! J (On everything ba dis something good, I believe in that)

The evening with Cider was finally pretty nice, it was very cool how they were preparing that, they were literally pouring the water from tw metres high to the glass to put the bubbles away from the drink. It was very good, but I would prefer to drink it with a little bit bigger amount, you drink it like a small shot, because according to Galicians, it tastes the best, when it is absolutely „fresh“. We were with Elle and Gon, later came also Pedro (father of Javi) and uncle and aunt. Uncle and aunt were guys who are smoking too much. After the bar with Cider, we went with them to another bar, where they gave us as tapas some gummies (haha best combination with beer).

7 DAY

After long negotiations, me, Javi, Elle and Gon decided to go to Lagos (two lakes in mountains). The trip was super cool, not only the walk there (it was very cold so I almost thought that I don´t want to walk), but also the ride with a car! I really enjoyed a lot. After that, we also visited some church and small chaple in the cave, which was also very impressive with waterfalls below that. Our next stop was Cudillero (fisherman´s village), but before that, we stopped in Cangas de Onis in Supermerkat for some food. We bought two bags full of food with Javi, which is not surprising, since we both love food. And veggies. (I bought spanish tortilla of course) In the fisherman´s village was it nice, however terrible weather and I started to feel sick. In the evening, I stayed at Javi´s parents place, his mum did for me very tasty salad and I learned sociology.

8 DAY

We went to Lugo, where we left our suitcase and backpacks on the bus station. Weather was terrible. We met Javi´s friend Dima, who was super cool guy who knew a lot about history and was very interested to share his knowledge with us. We went for coffee and also for lunch, where we had salad, tortilla, octopus and green pimientos, which were especially tasty for Javi. At 5 p.m. we went to Santiago. I did not feeel good, so I bought ginger to make to of that and did not go out with Javi and was just sleeping. Javi came from his meeting with friends at 3 a.m.

9 DAY

I woke up and felt horrible, so Javi took me to ambulatorio. There we waited for three hours till we realised, that the doctor does not plan to help me. So after three hours, we decided to just enjoy the city. We went to the cathedral, Javi was explaining me a lot of things about the city (as always) and we had an appointment with Guilliano and his girlfriend for a lunch. I had salad, salmon and potatoes and instead of dessert, coffee. Was very friendly. Whole day, we were just chilling in the town, buying nuts, talking, kissing in the park.. and finally we also went to the museum of Pilgrimage, which was super cool. In the evening, we went with some friends for tapas (arepas, the best spanish tortilla ever, cheese, bread, chips..). It was super nice evening, we went to 4 different bars and enjoyed a lot.

10 DAY

I woke up, again felt terrible, took two Paracetamols and felt much better. Guilliano and his girlfriend took us to the airport, I ate Cottage, in Madrid we bought Starbucks coffee and were looking forward for our next trip.. which will be.. hopefully… GEORGIA!! <3
