EASTERN IN WARSAW- DEAD CITY

In the beginning of April, Easter came. Me and Javi wanted to go somewhere out of the city. My first idea -going to Šumava for hiking was not really succesful because surprisingly, beginning of April is not the warmest time of the year so we decided to go to some city to experience #bigcitylife in another capital of Europe. We decided to go to Warsaw, because it is the closest capital, that none of had never been to.

  1. TRAVEL

We were not sure, which type of transport to choose. Airplane, bus or train? Airplane was too expensive, train and bus too long. Finally, we chose train, because we decided on comfort and night line. Firstly, I was little bit afraid of the comfort but in comparison to the bus, it is really great. Seats were super huge and we could adapt them for us so we could lay. I can only recommend! The price for one way was cca 1000 Kč/ 40E. The way took us 12 hours. So in the morning ( 9 o’clock) we arrived to Warsaw.

   2. DAY OF ARRIVAL

First day, we went on the Free Walking Tour, which was super nice, the guide was a little bit weirdo, he was always saying some stories about his wife and generally about his life. After that, we went to Jewish museum. Unfortunately, it was already closing, so we did not manage to see the whole exhibition. In the evening, we  went for a great pho to Mama Pho.I really wanted to spend night in some bar but I was suddenly so tired, that we just went back to our apartment.

  3. DAY OF FIRST RAIN

On Saturday, we woke up and decided to go for breakfast. It was really hard to choose a place, because most of places were closed. However, we found luckily Vincent Bakery, where we had amazing breakfast which contained: Eggs, bread, croisant, salad and coffee. I really loved that eventhough I had small pain in my stomach. After breakfast, we realised that we are not able to manage our planned Alternative free tour, so we decided to take “the Warsaw in war tour”. It was really great, I learned again more things about history of Poland, jews and so on. It was super cold, but I was already kind of used to that.

In the afternoon, we went to a vegan restaurant close to the Neon Museum. The museum was quite small, I was bit dissapointed but it was the only thing which was possible to do that day. And you know why?

Polish people are really strict with celebrating Easter.

From Saturday to Easter Monday, everything was closed. And when I mean everything, than really EVERYTHING. Museums, most of cafés, restaurants, shops… Well, Easter was really not the best time to go there if you want to do sightseeing. The vegan food which we ate was incredible. I had Buddha bowl from lentils, curry and veggies. Javi had Buddha bowl from some typical polish things. I really loved my food, Javi was bit dissapointed.

On Sunday, we woke up, went for breakfast to Café Nero and realised, that we are late again for the Alternative Tour in Warsaw. It was really cold outside, but we went for a walk anyway. After our walk, we sat in a chocolate café, where Javi drank hot chocolate and I had salad and tea :D. At 2 p.m., we went for the Communist tour, which was quite boring because the lady was talking mainly about general history which was well known for all people who come from post-communist countries.
