So about London. I had actually been to London already three times before my June trip, but never really enjoyed it. First time, it was at high-school, but we stayed only for one day, which I most of that spent in Primark (how stupid. :D). And other trips were basically about the airport. Going either to Asha center or Loughborough.
But this time, it was different. I went there to visit mostly Joe. A guy from Engage, Social media konference which was held in Prague and I was there as a volunteer. We started to chat a little bit after the conference and Joe thought that it would be really cool to meet in London. And I thought that it would be actually really idea as well! 😀 So on the 8th of June I took my travel backpack and went to London! My flight was delayed one hour, but it was nothing in comparison to the delay which it had on the way back (3 hours!!). The airplane landed in a city called Southend, which is located about 60 kilometres from London. It didn’t matter, because in the train I met one really cool guy, who surfs, rides bicycle and travels a lot, which was really cool to talk with. We talked about everything. In the end he told me that if I was bored we could meet. Firstly, I thought that I will not have time or something, but finally, I was the person who was begging him to meet. 😀 I mean, not really begging but I just wanted to meet.
I arrived to Landbroke Grove station, where it took me only 5 minutes to the flat where I was staing. It was right next to the Portobello market! Such a great place to live! On Friday’s night, we went to SoHo, some cool neighbourhood in London where we entered some Italian bar and had there two wines and pizza. Both of us were really exhausted so we didn’t party anymore, we were actually so tired, that we didn’t even wait for one guy who was supposed to sell us weed. 😀
The next day in the morning, I felt really sick. I was not really able to swallow because my throat just felt like angina. I also caught a cold, so my nose was in a minute completely red. 😀 I was reading a book called „Contagious“ which I borrowed from Joe. It is basically a book about ideas that stick and about creativity. I thought that I will wait for Joe, but apparently, he was not really ready for morning sightseeing and finally it appeared, that it was not bad at all.
Firstly, I went to the Portobello market, which was so much fun! They had there amazing food, clothes, antiques and generally the atmosphere was just crazy amazing! The sun was shining and I felt again that freedom that I always feel when I am somewhere alone in a different country. I just feel, that everything is on it’s place and everything works how it should. From there, I was walking a little bit to the Hydepark, where I borrowed “Santander” bike. It was so cool! Just to bike, feeling the warmth of the sun and smile on people around me. I felt, that London is really different. Different from all cities in Europe that I had visited before (and they were not few – actually almost all capitals- beside Lisbon, Reykjavik, Riga and Brussels). When I was walking through the Green Park (I hope that it was Green Park), there appeared suddenly thousands and thousands of people. I asked some random guy what was happening there and he answered, that in approximately 10 minutes, the queen was supposed to be there! 😀 So random again! So I just remained to stay there and was waiting for the queen as well. 😀 And than I saw her! Her and whole royal family! I appreciated so much the moment that I could be there, to be part of those English people who adore The Royal family so much. J I was walking slowly from Buckingham palace in some random direction when suddenly some old man appeared and was really into talking with me. It was such a nice talk! We were talking about English people, about politics, family, my boyfriend and everything. J he accompanied me the whole way to Tate Modern Gallery. There it was again so so so beautiful! I want over some cool bridge directly to St. Paul cathedral, where I went to Sainsbury’s (oh my God, this is the shop that I really love) for some pineapples. After that, I met Joe and we went together to Tate Modern Gallery, which was completely for free (If you are not into Picasso, which costed 26 pounds). It really caught my attention that Joe took picture of some guy who was playing guitar and wrote to his friend that it would be a great business plan if they did some competition between those people who play on the streets and somehow find sponsors for that (ALL the time thinking about business!). After the Tate modern, we went to the Borough market, which was already closed but we had at least some Tacos and wine (Joe took Margharita). Of course, I had still a loooooot of energy, so we continued to the Tower Bridge. Next to the river, there was some Latino party and around that like thousand people dancing and just feeling happy. I found it so cool!!
We bought some hash and wine for the evening and got bit high. We ordered pizza and were talking about that, how important it actually is to have money for enjoying life. You know, you cannot live on this cool address (like Notting Hill) and order whatever you want if you would not have any money. After that, I felt bit bored so we went with Uber to Joe’s friends. However, they were so uninteresting and just boring! We decided to go back, actually we wanted to go for some drinks, but finally we decided to go back home and just talk about everything, giving each other totally honest feedback and were afraid of purely nothing. We went to sleep at 7:30 a.m.
SUN-DAY
Sunday was really day full of sun. I woke up at 12 a.m. (I think it was my first time, that I woke up that that late!! :D) and went out to Portobello market. We were walking there a little bit with Joe and bought some cool pineapple with smoothie inside. Later we found some cool café, where I had a toast with avocado, poached egg (which is really something so cool, when it melts on your bread.. <3). And we both are lovers of soya cappuccino! <3 😀 After that, I basically just borrowed bike, went to Hyde Park and walked and rode around whole London. In the evening, I was a little bit down with my mood and it got even worse when I arrived to the airport and realised that my flight was supposed to leave instead of at 10 pm at midnight! I felt sick and so on.. I arrived to Prague at 3 a.m. and really didn’t have any power to do something more than just sleeping. Luckily, on Monday I felt better and not so sick like all days before.
